Argan oil is an oil produced from the kernels of the argan tree, endemic to Morocco, that is valued for its nutritive, cosmetic and numerous medicinal properties. The species Argania once covered North Africa and is now endangered and under protection. Argan oil remains one of the rarest oils in the world due to the small and very specific growing areas.

All Argan sold today is produced by a Women’s Cooperative that shares the profits among the local women of the Berber tribe (also known as the Amazighs). The cooperative has established an ecosystem reforestation project so that the supply of Argan oil will not run out and the income that is currently supporting the women will not disappear. The money is providing health care and education to the local women and supporting the entire community as a whole and provides income for 3 million people in the southern part of that kingdom.

Although Argan oil is traditionally used in Morocco for dipping bread, drizzling on couscous, salads and similar uses, the unroasted oil is also traditionally used as a treatment for skin diseases, and has found favour with the cosmetics industry in many countries.

1) Create a Skin Softening Bath:
Treat your feet to a skin softening bath using 1/4 fresh lemon juice, two tablespoons of olive oil, 1/4 cup of milk, 1/4 cup of water, and a pinch of cinnamon. Mix all ingredients together and add to a container for soaking the feet. It is recommended to soak the feet twice per week.

2) Peppermint or Tea Tree Oil Foot Soak:
For a foot bath or suitable container, boil enough water to cover your feet and ankles. Allow the water to cool down before adding three drops of relaxing peppermint essential oil and one drop of eucalyptus essential oil. Lemon essential oil is optional, but can increase the overall sensation of the foot soak. You may also opt for a tea tree essential oil foot soak to effectively fight fungal infections.

3) Over-the-Counter Herbal Balm:
